Trainings at the 2008 Conference:

Serving your Community: Needs Assessment to Program Implementation - Well designed programs help secure funding. This training provides methods to analyze your community to guide the CDCs service delivery design for greater program impact. Dr. Denese Neu presents an interactive course that will (1) move you beyond customer surveys and/or census data to identify needs and solutions for your CDC area, (2) create stronger programs and partnerships for measurable impact, and (3) develop greater community support and funding for your agency. Building upon what you already know, learn new techniques to work smarter for greater results. - Denese M. Neu, Ph.D., Principal, HHS Planning & Consulting, Inc

Executive Management Series: Whether you call them Grantors, Directors, Supporters or Lenders, different groups are interested in your agency's likelihood of succeeding. The predominant tool ALL interested groups require is the Financial Statement. While they are looking at the same report, they are interested in different facets. As a Management Representative of your Agency, you must fairly and accurately represent the status of your Agency based on the individual group's needs.
Join us for an interactive, dynamic session, as Tina Moore Council simplifies the money mystique and shares lessons learned from her over 25 years of experience as a board member, bank officer, consultant, and executive manager of nonprofits throughout Texas. You will walk away with a practical understanding of what different groups require and desire when reviewing financial statements; how to help your Board of Directors meet their fiduciary responsibility; and how to improve the financial condition of your organization with appropriate action. -
Tina Z. Council, Principle, I Am Pleased Development Center
This session is designed for:
· Board members who want to understand their fiduciary responsibility and fundraising responsibility;
· Executive managers who want to effectively communicate with funders and other interested parties;
· Staff aspiring to the role of Executive Manager.

Planning and Budgeting for Multifamily Operations - This training is a nuts and bolts guide for multifamily managers who are responsible for creating and following an annual operating budget. Attendees will understand the importance of the big picture while not losing sight of the day to day budgeting necessary to keep their property afloat and profitable. By the end, you will know how to create a useful annual budget that you will utilize as a tool. - Roy Cozart, Executive Director, SW-AHMA – Southwest Affordable Housing Management Association
(A) The ‘good’ and ‘bad’ of budgeting
(B) Creating a useful budget quickly
(C) Tips to maximize financial resources
(D) Using a big picture approach to address current and future needs of the property.

BUILDERS: NEW TRCC REQUIREMENT - GET ALL 5 CEU’s IN 1 DAY!!: You will receive 2 hours of instruction designed to clarify government and open process bidding, 1 hour of Required Ethics that specifically pertains to builders, and 2 hours of required building code instruction.  Attendees will receive a certificate at the end of the session and their names will be submitted to TRCC as fully meeting the continuing education requirement.
