About the Texas CED Policy Summit
The Texas Association of Community Development
Corporations is pleased to invite you to the 2007 Texas Community Economic
Development (CED) Policy Summit. The ninth annual meeting of “Legislators,
Lenders and Leaders” is designed to encourage conversation around the most
pressing public policy issues affecting affordable housing and community
economic development across the state of Texas.
The Texas CED Policy Summit provides the
opportunity for leaders and community partners to come together and set the
agenda for the future impact on Community Economic Development. Please join us
on October 09, 2007 from 9:00am - 4:00 pm in Austin for a day of
exchanging innovative ideas with each other at the 2007 Texas CED Policy Summit.
Through collaboration and sharing resources
we can overcome the serious challenges that face low-income communities such as
affordable housing and economic development. Our vision for the future is one
where the policies and practices of the public sector, advocates, and private
markets work together to ensure all Texans have an opportunity to prosper.

Our Keynote Speaker
We are
honored to have Sheila Crowley, President of the
National Low
Income Housing Coalition, provide
the Keynote Address at the Texas CED Policy Summit luncheon on October 09,
2007. Ms. Crowley will discuss efforts to create a national housing trust fund
to serve low-income working families as well as other federal policies important
to housing the country’s workforce.
